Short-Term Learning Assistant (Teacher Aide) Aotea College

Aotea College is seeking a Learning Assistant to join our vibrant and dedicated Learning Support team. This is a short-term position for six weeks from the 29th of May to the 2nd of July, working 26.25 hours per week (covering a staff absence).

This position calls for a person with patience, care and flexibility; someone who enjoys working with young people. It is a combination of working with individual students and whole class support.

Key tasks will be:

  • Ensuring instructions are understood by the students. Helping students with organisational tasks but also promote independence.
  • Supporting students in developing and implementing literacy and numeracy strategies across all curriculum areas.
  • In-depth understanding of the students’ conditions and capabilities involves the independent or shared responsibility to amend, adjust or modify the level and type of support in response to progress or change

Appointment is subject to an accepted police vetting result.
