Wellington bus customers face potential disruption from bus drivers’ strike
Wellington, Hutt Valley and Porirua bus customers are likely to face disruption to their travel from Thursday (October 25) due to a strike by members of the Tramways Union.
Commuters who usually take the bus to work and students taking the bus to school should make other arrangements for their travel while the strike continues.
How any industrial action may play out is difficult to predict, but Metlink will keep bus travellers updated on the evolving situation through the Metlink website and social media channels as well as public information on radio.
The key message for our customers is to please check before you travel. Use Metlink’s app or website to check for cancelled services.
Metlink regrets the impact and uncertainty the industrial action will have on bus customers.
For more information on delayed and cancelled services please visit metlink.org.nz or call our Metlink team on 0800 801 700.
The NZ Transport Agency will also have traffic and travel notices in place. Visit journeys.nzta.govt.nz for the latest updates.
