New Bus stops in Francis Brown Ave
We have been working with Metlink and the Porirua City Council to enhance the safety of our students and to improve access to the new school. Part of this work will see the buses moved from within the school grounds. New school bus stops will operate from Francis Brown Ave from Monday 14th October (week one) for drop off and pick up. This will be monitored by staff, Metlink and the PCC. The school buses will no longer come into the school grounds and load in the Te Manawa carpark. With the increased student movement from Francis Brown Ave we will be restricting entry through the back entrance. This entrance should only be used by demolition contractor and property vehicles.
Student car parking
We encourage students to get to and from school by bus, walking or cycling. For those students that drive to school they can park onsite in the bottom car park outside Te Manawa. Year 12 and 13 students are not to socialise in cars at lunchtime or interval either onsite or in the local streets. We will be talking with students in week 1 about working with the local and school community to ensure a safe and friendly environment for everyone. It is not reasonable for our neighbours to experience large groups of students hanging around cars and outside their homes twice a day.
